Be aware that I have heard that when the sharp LCDs are powered off the rs232 port is TURNED OFF. DOH! Only explanation I have heard is that it helps with the energy star rating for the TV.

Of course it totally sucks for us since it wont take a command while the port is turned off.

Actually there are only IR discrete codes for the first 4 inputs, I have tried every input 5 code I could find and none of them work with this model. The other thing that sucks about this unit is that when using the HDMI input you do not have any other audio options, i.e. you have an DVI to HDMI cable running to the sharp and you want to use the built in speakers, well it aint gona happen, as the display only looks for audio via the HDMI input, unlike some plasmas that let you select a different audio input separate from the HDMI input.

Is this the same string that is in the mega list? Or the same string from the pronto area?

If so they both dont work. If it is something new, then I will replace the code in the mega list with your code. followed by many thanks

it turns out I found this code in a different library:

actually from an MX-3000 remote database and used the IR Pro to put it in the T2+:

so please test it and add it to the mega list

Hi there,

It is true that the sharp LC 45 has a power save command. It means that you never get the power on from standby. There is a command that disables this function. It is not in the manual. Here is it is.
RSPW0001,$0D

You can only send this command if the screen is on. After that the screen can be put on with POWR1 ,$0D and off with POWR0 ,$0D
Be aware that alle the command's must be 8 bytes (3 spaces behind the command) and every command ends with a carriage return ($0D)
Good luck

Thanks for this post. It came in handy today on a job installing Sharp TV's for the first time w/ 232. I spent about 1-1/2 hour tracing it down to a problem w/ the TV before searching and finding this post. What a stupid thing for sharp to do. I was just thinking how great the 232 connection was. One tip, for the RIT command use "RSPW0001\r" works like a charm. Thanks again!

Sharp Aquas monitors are known to turn OFF the RS232 receiver when the PowerOff command is received. Some version have a "hotel mode" that can be enabled to prevent this. Please contact your screen manufacturer or reseller to see if your screen has that feature and how to enable it.

if someone have these models
